About Ken McGonigal
I've been in web services long enough to watch search change completely — and I've watched most businesses get left behind every time it does.
When Google launched, businesses that had websites won. When Google started favoring mobile-friendly sites, businesses that adapted won. When local search became a thing, businesses with optimized Google Business Profiles won.
AI search is the next shift. And it's moving faster than any of the ones before it.
Why I built this service
I started noticing something strange: businesses with great Google rankings were invisible in ChatGPT. Not because they were doing anything wrong — because they'd never set up the signals that AI search actually uses.
Structured data. Bing indexing. Content that answers questions clearly. Entity consistency across the web.
These aren't complicated things. But most businesses don't know they matter, and most SEO agencies haven't built a process around them yet.
So I did.
What I actually do
I run AI visibility audits — a complete check of whether your business shows up across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and the technical infrastructure behind them. Then I fix what's missing.
It's not vague "AI optimization." It's specific, verifiable, and measurable. When we're done, I can show you the before and after.
Where I live and work
I'm based in Vanderhoof, BC, and I'm a member of the Vanderhoof Chamber of Commerce. For businesses here in Northern BC — Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Fraser Lake, Prince George and around — I also do the Time & Money Audit in person: I find the hours and dollars leaking out of your admin work and hand you a written plan to fix it.
The AI Visibility Audit is remote and works for businesses anywhere — $1,000. The Time & Money Audit is me, in your shop — $497. Both are credited in full toward the fixes.
Working with me
I work directly with business owners — no handoffs to junior staff, no black-box processes. You'll know exactly what I'm doing, why I'm doing it, and what it accomplished.
The part people are usually surprised by is how little you have to do. You don't write the copy — we talk for an hour about what you actually do and how your customers decide, and I write it from that. You don't get a login, because there isn't one. When your hours change or a price moves or you drop a service, you email me and it's live the same day. No CMS to learn, no ticket queue, no password you'll have forgotten by the time you need it.
That's deliberate. Most small business websites don't fail at launch — they fail eighteen months later, when the person who was supposed to keep it current has a business to run instead. Taking that job off your desk entirely is the whole point of how I work.
I'm in Vanderhoof, not a call centre in another province. For businesses along the Highway 16 corridor that usually means I can come to you.
If you already have a site and just want to know why it isn't showing up, the $1,000 audit answers that in 24 hours. If you don't have a site worth optimizing, we start with the build instead.
Let's talk about your site
No website, or one you've outgrown? Sites start at $2,500 with the copywriting included — and you never log in. Already have a site that works but isn't showing up? The $1,000 audit tells you why, in 24 hours, credited toward any work.
